I became kind of bored by specs and chasing after the latest and greatest cameras a long time ago but the upcoming Fuji x-pro 3 is so fundamentally different that i pre-ordered it instantly.
And to scratch my footage while I wait I’ve decided to take a look at the Fujifilm X-T30 if you follow me you know that I’ve had the xt 20 as well as the xt 10 but never reviewed them simply because I didn’t like them all that much compared to the other Fuji cameras but I can definitely recommend them and this one is no exception here are 5 reasons why.
5 Reasons To Pick The Fujifilm X-T30
1) It’s The Fact That it’s Pretty
Firstly it’s the fact that it’s pretty much a flagship xt3 in a cheaper body there are some features missing from the xt3 but nothing that will hold me back as an enthusiast or for pro work and it
Will only get cheaper the xt 10 can be had for less than $200 and the xt 20 have touched below the $350 mark for a demo unit in stores with warranty around the time of other releases and so will The XT 30 if you give it some time.
2) The Pancake Lens
Next up is the size with the pancake lens like the 27 millimeter it would be pretty much the same size as the X III and X 100 F it easily goes in a jacket pocket it’s lightweight but still doesn’t feel TOI like the slightly larger size compared to the others is forgiving since you get a built in flash and something I love for Street shooting a tail screen my hand am I looking forward to the X Pro 3.
3) The Grip Which Was The Biggest
Thirdly we have the grip which was the biggest reason I didn’t like the XT 20 NXT – it might not look very different but in the hand I can certainly feel it and when the image quality is so similar if not identical.
between Fuji cameras these are the things that I look at when deciding between them also the simple but genius option to turn off the cue button completely is probably my favorite firmware update ever in a camera no more accidentally pressing it
4) Button Related it’s the drive mode dial of all the XF Fuji cameras
Next reason is also button related it’s the drive mode dial of all the XF Fuji cameras released so far the XT 10 20 and 30 are the only ones with a solid drive mode switch I love having a physical control for it but the ones on the T 1 2 & 3 are just awful.
I feel I have to be very slow and careful not to mess it up which negates the whole point of it here I can jump between the settings quick and snappy.
5) Slow Motion
Lastly we have the slow-motion this is a feature I enjoyed having a lot in the XT 2 and xh 1 but sadly missed in the X Pro 2 and X III and since my main video camera at work doesn’t have a fast slow motion like this the Fuji gets B cam status.
And can add value there as well the only real negatives is that the price is still quite high compared to XD 3 and older cameras like the XT – and not to mention the XT 1 but trust me it will drop a lot in a year or two that’s it.
